What is the story that you want to tell? It all begins with a vision, an emotion, a place you want to transport to, an era, or a point in time. That dream, desire, or fantasy to become reality – to move that concept out of your mind and into a full immersion where you can experience it with all of your senses. That’s what we creatives do. We tell you a story, stir your imagination and heart, and bring you along in our vision and dreams through the various mediums that flow through our hands.

Behind every production – whether print, television commercial or sitcom, film, website, advertisement, event, fashion show, or music video – there’s a team putting all the pieces together just right, conveying that vision and bringing it to life, so that the finished piece connects you – speaking to your heart, your emotions, your desires, pulling you into this wonderful experience of delight, escape, exhilaration, mystery, joy, and a world of endless possibilities.

Unseen production heroes

In our world of creative direction, marketing, and vision casting, even down to everyday functioning and necessities, the production teams are at the center. As they say, it takes a village to raise a child; well, it takes a whole production team behind the scenes to create the project.

The inner workings of a project, whether still or reel, and the wonderful people behind it. I, for one, among every other creative in this incredible production landscape, am so immensely grateful for each person on the teams that collaborate and bring it all together – the producers, creative directors, editors, photographers, videographers, models, wardrobe and fashion stylists, hair and makeup artists, prop stylists, art directors, camera operators, sound mixers, production assistants, assistance stylists, designers, stores and brands.

It has been an honor to work with each and every one of them and see their light, gifts, and talents dazzle and shine brightly. To see them in their expertise, bringing out these beautiful facets of the project that without each one, the finished product would never be the same. Adding their special touch to it that only they can do. Now, each project requires a certain type of team and a number of creatives.

Whether it’s a small production, a huge box office feature film, or a Super Bowl halftime show, it will determine who is needed for the team. It could be an established brand doing their advertising for their upcoming season, a celebrity going to a red carpet event, a musician filming their next music video or needing looks for their world tour, an influencer promoting himself/herself, a new TV sitcom or feature film, a fashion show, a city or hotel chain showing what they offer in order to attract new customers and tourists, someone launching their new company, or a person fresh out of school trying to break into the industry as a model or stylist building their portfolio and doing a test shoot.

All of these projects need various creatives of a production team. But one thing you cannot go without – is the wardrobe. This is one of our basic essentials in human existence and survival.

Clothing is an incredible way to express ourselves, build ourselves up, cast a vision, highlight our wonderfully created body, sell our talents, skills, and abilities, show status or role in society, play one character one day and another the next day, brighten our day; and so much more. Clothing is an amazing medium and form of art to work with. We all can connect with it, and we all need it. We all have our own style.

Styling emotional connections

What do you feel when you see that wonderful feature film? The ad in your favorite magazine or commercial on TV? Your favorite celebrity wearing an exquisite, shocking, or desirable piece, making you want to be them? Luxury, nostalgia, hope, opportunity, ideas for growth, inspiration, an ability to dream, entertainment. So many different emotions rise up within us. That’s where us wardrobe stylists come into play.

Every talent must be clothed in something. Now, yes, you can go into your own closet and try to find something that “may” work. But what is your vision? What do you want your clients and customers to feel? What will make them want to buy from you, use your services, or follow you? What is going to connect them to you and pull them in as a lifetime client? What are you trying to portray?

As stylists, we have the ins and outs of getting clothing. And we’re always on the hunt for more. Fashion is always changing. It’s cyclical. A trend is in one day and out the other. But then you wait another decade or two, and we find the trend coming back around.

In a perfect world, we would be able to get clothing for free for all of our projects. But that is not always possible. Yes, there are times we can use pieces that are loaned to us. There are so many wonderful fashion PR firms that you can get amazing pieces from designers on loan to promote their designs. Everything is a give-and-take relationship. That’s how we work together – in this beautifully harmonized and balanced relationship. By promoting the represented brand’s clothing for them and giving them the credit they are due, we can use their pieces. This is an amazing process where we can help each other and grow.

Rent revolution

However, not every job that a stylist finds themselves in allows for this possibility. Sometimes, it is required to hire or rent the clothing. You may be doing a historical project, and you need pieces from a specific era. Or the clothing will be used on a project where the clothing is strictly functional, and the clothing brand and designer will not receive any credit at all. The brand name will not be mentioned in any format.

You may be doing a job where the clothing is going to get destroyed. Or you may be doing a film in which you need the clothing for a long time, and the fashion PR cannot have the pieces gone for that long of period because this prevents them from having these pieces available for other stylists, editors, and celebrities who will promote the brand. And even down to those stylists who are just starting out, they often do not have any contacts for designers or showrooms, and do not know where to get clothing at.

For all these instances, hiring or renting clothing is a great way for them to have excellent clothing for their project or get a helpful start to building up their portfolio. And as the world goes more sustainable, it’s one way to give clothing and past seasons another life, refashioning it for another purpose.

Yaqar's fashion ease

I’d like to introduce you to Yaqar Fashion House, the newest fashion library for hire in South Florida. Here at Yaqar Fashion House, we strive to give you a little bit of everything and to reduce the number of places you have to go to get clothing, accessories, or props. We want to make your life easier. This will allow you to shop at any hour of the day.

It’s always the worst when you have an extremely short deadline and have to wait until 10 am for the store to open to physically go there and pull, not knowing exactly what they have and hoping that you can find everything you need while doing it all within the budget. Your stress level can go through the roof, and you find yourself not eating and getting only a couple hours of sleep so that you have everything you need and have everything prepped, packed, and ready to go. I know you stylists know exactly what I’m talking about. We feel you.

And on top of that, needing pieces that come from opposite sides of the spectrum that you’re going to use to create and develop into a beautiful, choreographed symphony of looks made up of perfectly curated pieces.

However, this requires multiple stops because one brand’s selection sticks with its one product category, style, or voice. Not everywhere has high-end luxury pieces alongside streetwear, festival, or edgy pieces. At Yaqar Fashion House, we provide a plethora of items to give you more time and more options and help you feel a little more organized.

We’re here to serve you, take some of the weight off your shoulders, and give you as many options as possible. You always have the option to come by, shop, and pull yourself if you like to see and touch. And of course, you can always send your assistant. You can let us know what the creative direction is, and we can pull pieces for you and send photos for your approval. Or we can courier or ship the pull directly to you, so you can have ease of mind knowing that you already have these pieces.

Currently, we’re launching our website to make it even easier for you. If you want to shop after hours or simplify things for yourself, you will just need to select your requested pieces online beforehand, and we can have them ready for you to just pick up or ship them to you. A piece of cake. Any way that we can make your job easier and relieve some stress so that you can spend more time doing other things. Even if you’re in the middle of a shoot on location, we’re here to help where you need it.

Celebrating your hard work

We value what you do, all your hard work, and all the time that you put in. The definition of “yaqar” is precious, prized, and highly valued. While we can certainly put the clothing in that category, it’s really you who are precious, prized, and highly valued. We honor you and celebrate you and the wonderful gifts and talents that you have and share with the world.

So, what do you need? What is the look you’re going for? What is the creative direction? Founded and curated by yours truly, our selection is handpicked with you in mind. We have women’s, men’s, girl’s, shoes, accessories, handbags, and props.

We have luxury designer pieces, gowns, streetwear, leathers and harnesses, equestrian, classic styles, edgy, PVC and festival looks, futuristic, apocalyptic, era pieces, Lolita, suiting, activewear, swimwear, hats and helmets, goggles and sunglasses, and more. Some of our selections include pieces from Elie Saab, Balenciaga, Balmain, Gucci, Christian Louboutin, Cult Gaia, Dsquared 2, Jacquemus, MM6 Maison Margiela, George Esquivel, Alice + Olivia, L’Agence, Members Only, MNML, Nike, Topman, Quiksilver, Decibel, Zara, Smuggler’s Moon, Manière De Voir, Dockers, H&M, and Zachary Prell just to name a few.

We also offer wardrobe styling and creative direction services if you need help coming up with a vision or need help putting looks together that will sell your product or talent.

We know that you have various lengths of projects as well, so we can do hires for 3 days, 7 days, or up to 1 month. If you need the clothing longer than that, no problem. We’ll just create an additional period for you.

Getting access is simple. All you have to do is first apply as an industry professional either on the website or by phone, email, or direct message us, and we can send the form out to you. Once your account has been approved, you won’t ever have to apply again, and you’ll have full access to all the pieces. Let us know what type of project you’re doing, along with a brief description, and we’ll be right there to get you set up with all the right pieces. You can learn more about it and apply at yaqarfashionhouse.com or our Instagram page @yaqar_fashion_house. We’re excited to serve you and help you create your incredible vision. Until then… that’s the wrap!
