The Truth...
Now that the weather has turned cold and summer has said its bitter goodbye, it’s self-care season again, like every year. And I couldn’t wait much longer to start sorting out the ultimate haircare wishlist for the fall.
With the first cold breeze comes the false hope of turning back time a few months to change… who knows what, because honestly, if you had asked me in July whether I’d give up that incredible nap under the poor little shade of a few tamarind trees on the beach, I’d have asked if you had a fever. Or those hours and hours in the sea, and in pools too, those waters that turned my shiny mane into a plain and simple bunch of hairs.
The truth is that, with November just around the corner, all I have left is the thrill of buying and trying new products that will work a little magic on my poor hair, the kind of magic that gives you strong roots, thick hair and the shiniest finish imaginable. Good luck to all of us. I already know a few that have worked wonders for me in past years, so I’m here to share them and sort out my shopping list.
Rated Green Everything
If you’ve spent any time in Spain and you like Korean beauty and skincare even a little, you know Miin Cosmetics, and with it many of its beloved brands. Rated Green is one of them. A few years ago I tried a product that completely overhauled my wash routine: an exfoliating shampoo. It was love at first use. I hope I’m not the only one who dreams of seeing her scalp wildly magnified under the cameras of a hair spa. Well, since I started using this and other lines from the brand, I’m firmly convinced the picture would be much kinder than the one I’d expect without them. And most importantly, I now always have a mane worth photographing, which, honestly, puts my mind very much at ease.
This Pillowcase, You Read That Right
Silk pillowcases took over social media and landed on everyone’s wish lists years ago, but truth be told, my mother, the hair authority in our family, was already using one long before that to keep her beautiful curls in check, prevent breakage and tangles and get the ideal shine. These ones from the Spanish brand Onisa Coté are made of natural silk that doesn’t hold on to moisture from the air or absorb your moisturizers… honestly, what else could you ask for.
This Sisley Serum
Nobody loves the serum moment on freshly washed skin at night more than I do, after a relaxing shower under the glow of a single warm, dim little lamp. I’d even say my sanity depends on it quite a bit… Is there any better news than finding out that Sisley, one of my absolute favorite brands to share that nighttime moment with, now has a solution to revitalize and strengthen my hair too? Definitely not.
This high-performance serum promises to help slow hair loss, stimulate growth, and improve the density and thickness of the strand. It’s a direct shot for the scalp microbiome and is formulated with actives like ginger extract, azalea flower yeast, amla and tetrapeptide. The promise? Visible results from the first month, half as much hair in the shedding phase and an immediate feeling of comfort on the scalp… I honestly can’t wait for it to exit my haircare wishlist and sit right next to my skincare
This "Glowtox" Haircare line
I hope I’m not the only one who has been putting off hair Botox treatment for ages… Good news for all of us: Pantene has launched a range that works inside the hair fiber to help repair it from within, giving you just the effect of that beloved, highly requested salon treatment everyone books after summer. The range includes Glowtox Oil, Detox Shampoo, Anti Frizz Conditioner, Revitalizing Mask and a Leave In Spray. Every single one is on my wish list. I have way too much faith in them, they sound like exactly what my hair needs right now.
This Night Repair Ampoule Treatment
I remember being quite little when a huge multi brand store opened in my city. It was a beauty heaven, especially for a girl living in a small town. Suddenly I had thousands of brands within reach that I had never heard of before. On one of our outings with friends, we discovered a product that felt pretty new to us, a liquid that promised to completely transform the look of your hair. It wasn’t a mask, and it wasn’t a shampoo either… that hooked us, and of course, we had to buy it.
Today, many years after that moment, I still remember the wonders of that concoction. And this one from the brand Anillo has stirred up my best memories and my biggest hopes. This Rosy Night Repair Ampoule goes on after shampoo, before or after your mask, or in place of it, and it turns from a liquid into a nourishing cream in seconds.
Leave it on for about 5 minutes, rinse it out, and it repairs, hydrates and gives your hair an incredible shine. It’s formulated with damask rose extract, which deeply hydrates and brings back the hair’s natural luminosity, a powerful cocktail of plant proteins… It also includes peptides like acetyl hexapeptide 8 and copper tripeptide 1, which strengthen the structure of the hair and support its long term health. The discovery of the year, if you ask me.
This Scalp Treatment
This time, another of my trusted brands has launched another serum, this one a leave-in. Anyone who has ever put a single drop of Olaplex on their hair knows exactly what I mean when I say this brand transformed my hair’s texture and the awful frizz I’d always had in just one month. Ever since, I’ve been a loyal devotee.
This serum promises to care for the scalp from the root, designed to hydrate, soothe and protect against premature aging. As always, it comes with their beloved patented Bond Building Technology® with ceramides, essential fatty acids, antioxidants and a blend that helps balance the microbiome and strengthen the skin barrier. A total yes that goes straight to my Haircare wishlist
