About Nicole Miller

Born in Fort Worth, Texas, to an engineer father and a Paris-born mother, Nicole Miller developed an early passion for fashion inspired by her mother’s impeccable French aesthetic. She went on to study design at the Rhode Island School of Design and the École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, where she mastered fabric manipulation—a hallmark of her work. After interning with Clovis Ruffin and serving as head designer at P.J. Walsh, Miller co-founded her namesake brand with Bud Konheim in 1982.

Her debut runway show in 1991, featuring supermodels like Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington, catapulted her to fame and landed her on the cover of Forbes the following year. By 1996, the brand achieved $100 million in sales, later expanding through Nicole by Nicole Miller at JCPenney and numerous licensing ventures.

Over four decades, Miller’s distinctive style and business acumen have made her a fixture at New York Fashion Week and earned her accolades, including the CFDA membership, the Legend of Fashion Award, and the FGI Lifetime Achievement Award. Today, following a 2022 majority investment by Gordon Brothers and her 2024 QVC debut, the Nicole Miller brand continues to thrive across 45 product categories spanning apparel, accessories, home, beauty, and fragrance.
