Tomas Nemec began his fashion journey at the Secondary School of Arts and Crafts in Uherské Hradiště. Recently, he graduated from Prague’s Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design, where he refined his skills in the fashion and footwear design studio under the mentorship of designer and professor Liběna Rochová.
Nemec first gained significant recognition in 2022 when he won the Van Graaf Junior Talent competition. His award-winning collection was inspired by Gaspar Noé’s film Lux Æterna. Known for his focus on specific and often cinematic sources, Nemec skillfully translates these inspirations into his designs, creating unique and expressive collections.

Luxurious Darkness
For his Fall/Winter 2025 collection showcased at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, Nemec drew inspiration from the ambiance of a Prague bar. He carefully observed the bar’s dim lighting, wallpaper, and table lamps, which influenced his design choices. This collection, which is entirely feminine, features luxurious materials such as tulle and satin. The color palette includes shades of olive green and maroon, with black as the predominant color. The designs emphasize a tight fit and highlight the waist, effectively evoking a strong sense of femininity.
