Javier, the son of a Barcelona couturier, brought a modern, unique eye to traditional designs. 2016, the brand incorporated the Dimas family with its extensive textile experience. Today, SIMORRA is known for its innovative use of unique fabrics and structures, combining architectural tailoring, textiles, and creative forms to create designs with a high creative value. Javier’s designs are not just clothes; they are works of art that will intrigue and excite those who appreciate his unique approach.

Cutting-Edge Design

The brand’s designs are defined not only by how it draws inspiration from its origins but also by its constant reimagining, generating a sense of novelty meant to thrill those who enjoy their creations.

The SIMORRA design team has conceived cutting-edge designs as a vehicle for creative expression through the manipulation of materials: ”Our desire is to push the boundaries of form to create useful things with a high aesthetic component, and what defines us is how we continually draw from our origins, constantly reformulating in order to keep generating novelty and continue thrilling with our proposals.”

The Roots

This year, SIMORRA’s collection is a celebration of how humans engage within a transgenerational society united by a common purpose, where age is not discriminatory. The brand’s unwavering commitment to inclusivity is evident in its designs, which balance learning from the past with new technologies to create fabrics that cater to all. SIMORRA’s designs are for everyone, and this inclusivity is a core part of their brand identity.

SIMORRA’s inspiration comes from a deep-rooted desire to awaken curiosity about alternative ways of viewing the world around us. The brand aims to explore new ways of perceiving and thinking about how we relate to nature and to question the place humans occupy in the ecosystems that inhabit planet Earth. This connection to nature is a fundamental part of SIMORRA’s design philosophy, making their creations unique and beautiful.

The Intelligent Garden

SIMORRA references Francis Darwin, son of the renowned English naturalist, who managed to shock the scientific society at the time by stating that “plants are intelligent beings” with the ability to think through their roots and tissues, creating a union and a collaborative network between other animal and plant species.

On the centenary of his death and the era of AI, SIMORRA was inspired by Darwin to reflect new ideas about intelligence and collaborative thinking between living beings, whether human or not.

The collection’s foundational color palette is linked to nature’s white, brown, grey, and burgundy hues, with splashes of blue, green, and rose.  One particular outfit was made from a gorgeous greyish-blue fabric and presented with cutouts that reminded one of plant roots. The dress was combined with an extremely long scarf, which fell backward to the ground like a cape.

The collection as a whole represented plants, branches, water, and leaves with humans in harmony with these ecosystems. SIMORRA continues to amaze us with its structure, glorious fabrics, and unique couture vision. These clothes uphold SIMORRA’s eye for beauty and elegance for all women of every age.
