Odette Álvarez Garzón is the founder of her second and eponymous brand in 2021. Her first line of clothes was called Teté, which comes from the affectionate nickname that Odette’s family used for her since childhood. From a young age, Odette developed an interest in fashion thanks to the work she saw at home, guided by her mother and grandmother, who always designed and made their clothing.

Odette’s journey is a testament to the power of passion and determination. Self-taught, she discovered her unique style that so captivated her friends, they all clamored for her designs. This overwhelming response was the catalyst for her commitment to fashion.

As Odette herself reflects, ‘Starting this adventure from scratch and achieving all that I have has meant a lot. I believe it is what I am most proud of: doing what I love and having my work recognized. It’s true that it has required a lot of effort, but today it is a reality. I am, of course, grateful to my team and to everyone who has believed in my project for making Teté by Odette a recognized and recognizable brand today.’

Odette’s new line is an offshoot of Tete, which is custom-made, handcrafted, and produced in limited editions. In February 2023, the Cantabrian designer debuted on the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid runway.

Iris Fall 2026

The Iris Fall 2026 collection by Odette Álvarez is inspired by hope, resilience, and inner strength—symbols of the iris. This flower blooms in the face of adversity during the coldest days of winter, serving as a powerful metaphor for the human spirit and the ability to thrive in challenging conditions.

Building on this idea, the designer blends the duality between external stillness and internal resurgence through colors, fabrics, and materials.

The fabrics and materials in this collection combine delicate elements such as satin crepe, silk tulle, and mohair wool with more robust ones like leather, technical gabardine, lamb and goat fur, suede, and classic men’s tailoring fabrics like pinstripe. Each material is carefully selected for its unique properties and contributes to the overall aesthetic and functionality of the pieces.

True to her signature style, Odette Álvarez incorporates her classic touches of sparkle with gemstones, sequins, and rich embellishments while also introducing handcrafted leather painting techniques with the iris flower as the central motif. The palette features warm and enveloping tones such as iris blue, mustard, burgundy, brown, black, and green.

Odette’s first look was a playful short dress in pale purple with grand floral flourishes at the neck and hip. The dress is meticulously tailored but also provides a burst of joy with the florals, elevating a short sexy dress into a true statement piece. The design of this dress was inspired by the idea of celebrating femininity and strength, with the floral flourishes symbolizing the resilience and beauty of the iris flower.

Another outstanding design incorporates a gorgeous multicolored fur coat over golden yellow blows and a buttercup-tinted long skirt with a daring slit up the front and reaching the knee.  The coat is a standout piece and uses most of a color palette in a pleasing, harmonious way. The blouse had a lovely flourish at the front, which mimicked a flower. This ensemble shows Odette’s inspiration through her elegant, feminine, but strong aesthetic.

The collection speaks to the inherent strength of materials and the subtlety of color and texture, creating a synergy between the natural and the modern, the warm and the protective.
