Marcos Luengo has gracefully returned to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid once again with “Ex Machina.” He last showed his collection in September 2021. The collection takes its name from the latest project by audiovisual artist Iván Puñal. Marcos Luengo explores the limits of fashion without losing sight of the current events around us. To focus on reality, the couturier was inspired by the work of audiovisual artist Iván Puñal, since he always bases his collections “on the work of some other artist.” While remembering that he has already collaborated “on some occasions” with Iván.

Puñal has created Artificial Intelligence images, sounds, and visuals. These elements set the basis for the print patterns and designs that Luengo developed for this striking runway collection. “Deus ex machina,” “the god who comes down from the machine,” is also understood as “by the work of God.” Which, all in all, originated in the mythological ideas behind Greek and Roman theaters.

In his autumn-winter 24-25 proposals, prints were made on crepe, satin, silk velvet, and paillettes, ideal evening party designs. The collection complements its speech with varied silk and wool textures in solid colors, one of the characteristic lines of the house. This collection fosters innovation, also using “sustainable and natural fabrics such as wool and silk,” which are “noble, quality fabrics.”

About Marcos Luengo

Marcos Luengo, Asturian by birth and psychologist by training. Passionate about culture, art, and the world of fashion, he redirected his profession as a haute couture designer and founded the brand with his wife, Verónica Blanco.

Each collection is born from Marcos’ inspiration based on artists and their works, thus creating unique and timeless pieces that last over time. Moving away from passing trends. As a good art lover, Marcos chooses someone who catches his attention. They meet and start new designs, giving life to different colors and unique prints. This synergy is the source of his creativity.

The designer’s signature is captured in each garment with great detail, always using the most exquisite and natural materials, a true reflection of his way of seeing fashion.
