Georgina, founder and creative director, is now at the helm of the emerging fashion house Georgiela Studio and presented her “Dear G” collection at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Madrid. The brand can be seen as retro-futuristic, avant-garde, but still timeless. The designs are created on reusing fabrics, highlighting Georgina’s aim to be unique, inclusive, and sustainable.
Georgiela Studio's "Dear G"
The Georgiela Studio balances its designs between femininity, hand-sewn techniques, and modern silhouettes. Contrasting fluid fabrics, such as lingerie and tulle, are mixed with exaggerated volumes and rigid structures. Georgina loves experimenting by combining trends that may not initially seem compatible, but her work results in gorgeous, unrepeatable pieces.
The “Dear G” collection has a sporty touch, bringing luxury with comfort and a sense of streetwear. Georgina uses neutral and white colors with a lovely silver logo as highlights throughout the collection. A standout piece is a dress based on an elongated white bustier. The layered top is constructed from various components linked together with red stitching. It has a fantastic vibe with its asymmetrical one-shoulder piece matching a pant leg that is cheekily presented with cutouts. Gerogiela’s beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces are not simply stunts; they are meant to be worn repeatedly and lovingly admired.
The Journey
After years of studying and hard work, Georgina José Garcia has succeeded in Spanish fashion. When she first graduated from the Felicidad Duce Fashion School in Barcelona (LCI Barcelona), Nicola Formichetti contacted Georgina to use one of her designs for Lady Gaga’s music video, “Born This Way,” in 2011.
And from that point, Georgina unquestionably increased her triumphs. The Barcelona designer has always had a love affair with Parisian fashion, and while initially moving to London, Georgina returned to her hometown in 2015. At this point, she began collaborating with an international women’s clothing brand and became inspired by her trips to Los Angeles, Shanghai, and Seoul. Ultimately, Georgina turned to creating her brand in 2019 to showcase her exceptional design aesthetic.
