De la Cierva & Nicolás, a Spanish couture brand, is known for its handcrafted designs that fulfill women’s fashion dreams. Based in Murcia, this family business creates exclusive, custom pieces with a focus on detail, quality, and unique fabrics.

The brand has participated in many major fashion events, both nationally and internationally. These include Europeinsa Runway in Miami, Salón Cibeles in Madrid, and a 2024 exhibition in New York.

The brand’s latest collection, “LACHRYMA,” draws inspiration from emotions and the beauty of a tear as it forms. The collection consists of 35 looks, each designed to reflect different feelings, from happiness and sadness to anger. The use of modern technology and traditional craftsmanship brings these emotions to life through unique silhouettes and textures.

Beauty of Tears

Fabrics such as pearlescent double gazar, faux tweed, and organza with fiberglass embroidery give the collection a unique texture. These materials add a sense of movement and emotional depth. The “moulage” technique creates sculpted, flowing volumes, symbolizing the fragility and strength of human emotions.

At the 80th edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, the brand showcased its latest collection, “LACHRYMA,” on the opening day. Models walked down the runway in shades ranging from pure white to deep black.

Highlights included red, sand, cerulean blue, and Payne’s grey. Each color reflected the way tears crystallize under a microscope. The collection also highlights sustainability. The brand makes its fabrics from recycled plastic bottles. This reinforces the brand’s commitment to eco-friendly practices. At the same time, it captures the raw beauty of human emotions.

De la Cierva & Nicolás’s “LACHRYMA” collection brilliantly marries emotional expression with innovative design. Their ability to blend traditional techniques with modern technology showcases not only their craftsmanship but also their deep understanding of fashion as a medium for personal and environmental expression.

The collection’s emphasis on sustainability further amplifies its impact, setting a benchmark for future couture endeavors. This show not only celebrated the brand’s rich heritage but also underscored its forward-thinking approach, making it a standout moment in this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid.
