In the fashion design world, I came to learn something: when you are covering shows, you are always hoping for that one that leaves you speechless. Well, I just left De la Cierva y Nicolás’ Ímpetu, its latest show, and it is hard to put into words the beauty I just witnessed.
The brand has just unveiled the last part of an incredible fashion trilogy presented across different stages. As the brand’s designer shared with us right after the show, the trilogy’s first chapter, Lachryma, was about holding back emotion and the second, Ether, was about suspension and balance. Now, the third and final, Ímpetu, is about the breaking point, about energy exploding and pushing forward.

The Power of Release
In this collection, De la Cierva y Nicolás focused on the act of release, on that moment when something that has been building within reaches a point of no return and explodes. To express this, they turned to the natural world’s most powerful forces like volcanoes, storms, and earthquakes.

The Trilogy Concludes with Explosive Elegance
The show opened with a volcanic orange sculptural mini-dress that recalled lava heat and color and evoked the energy of the earth in mid-eruption through its oversized, cloud-shaped sleeves. A bubbled hemline paired with the model’s bare legs further evoked this sense of something intense and pent up, ready to explode. This concept of energy and force in eruption carried through into the sculptural silhouettes, which gave a physical dimension to its sense of power, not just in color but also through lines, movement, and layering.

Craftsmanship was impeccable in each piece. Fashion design was elevated to the level of art with every pleat and stitch. Elongated lines, exquisite fabrics, and graceful movement gave shape to a god-like woman, one who always welcomes personal transformation regardless the cost of tears or price of rage.
De la Cierva y Nicolás closed their most iconic trilogy at its highest peak, telling the world that breaking internal barriers and channeling fear into movement is the most courageous and authentic act we can embrace. We hold the power to turn rage into the strongest energy of all: transformation. And it is that very process which prepares us to step into the future.
