The Spanish designer David Pérez Martínez from Guadalajara presented his collection at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Madrid. David founded his brand, David Moss, in 2020, with the name of his brand inspired by the famous top model of the 90s, Kate Moss. David is an explosion of creativity and one of the new designers to look out for in Spain.

David Moss is not just another fashion brand. It is a conceptual and innovative brand that stands out in the industry. Founded by a designer with a unique blend of styling, photography, and fashion design training, the brand’s focus on bespoke tailoring, limited collections, and designs for television entertainment sets it apart.

David Moss is a blend of art, an avant-garde aesthetic, and an eye for spectacle, making it a brand to watch. Fashion, for David, is not just about trends, but an artistic expression that prioritizes craftsmanship and individual identity. Each design is a unique creation, a pursuit of self-expression and originality, using fashion as a tool to create artistic universes drawn from the brand’s imagination.

Metamorphosis

The ‘Metamorfosis’ collection is not just a series of garments, but a visual narrative of an emotional journey. Each piece is a reflection of intense emotions and layers of accumulated experiences, conceived as wearable sculptures.

The collection symbolizes internal transformation and profound processes of change, with dark tones representing phases of inner struggle and protective pieces evoking shelter and emotional density. In contrast, pastel and silver tones symbolize rebirth and clarity, featuring lighter, more open silhouettes that suggest peace and freedom after adversity. This emotional depth and symbolism make the ‘Metamorfosis’ collection a powerful and relatable artistic statement.

The collection combines organic forms inspired by nature and geometric shapes with sculptural volumes, pleats, and three-dimensional details that play with light and shadow, creating an architectural aesthetic. The designs evolve from closed structures to fluid shapes, representing self-discovery and acceptance. The color palette is ice white, black, smoky dark grey, and hits of pale blue, minty green, and dusty rose.

Although the whole collection is remarkable, one of the first looks pops out with its incredible design. It is a white dress with a spectacular skirt composed of geometric flounces falling just past the knee. The bodice has a high neckline and long sleeves, emphasizing elegance and fresh modern lines.

Another fabulous outfit is a pale blue dress composed entirely of ruffles from its high neck to mid-thigh. The pale blue color in this dress symbolizes tranquility and calm, adding an extra layer of interest to this conceptual look. David has found the balance between wearable design and high art. Although this dress is ambitious, David has created an outfit that would flatter any person wearing it.
