Ynésuelves is a brand that fuses timeless luxury with a rebellious spirit. The founder, Ynés Suelves, playfully describes this aesthetic as elegance with a hooligan edge. As many artistic designers do, Ynés knew that her destiny was intertwined with the world of fashion design. “I was born a designer,” she asserts with conviction.

In 2016, Ynés brought her vision to life by creating her own brand named Ynésuelves. Her design philosophy is grounded in creating everyday pieces that stand the test of time, crafted from the highest-quality materials, with impeccable workmanship and meticulous tailoring. Another unique part of the story is Ynés’s deep-rooted family connection to her mother, María, known as “La Beltraneja.” The nickname is a direct reference to her father, Beltrán Osorio.

Transformative Moments

While Ynés conceptualizes the brand’s silhouettes, María draws on her textile knowledge, transforming fabrics into one-of-a-kind pieces. This collaboration has resulted in the creation of a symbolic rose used on the brand’s clothing.  Ynésuelves, at its heart, creates garments that combine functionality and timeless style. For Ynés, fashion is a tool for transformation and everyday empowerment.

Her vision transcends fleeting trends, focusing instead on creating garments that allow women to express their true essence in their day-to-day lives. As she states, “there are transformative moments when the perfect pair of jeans gives you superpowers, when your shoes make you walk with greater strength, and when a dress reveals your inner spirit.”

The designer has built herself a space where imagination knows no bounds. Where women can be “half flower, half butterfly,” and where every garment tells a unique story. Her work not only reflects contemporary trends but is also deeply rooted in her personal history, her life experiences, and her family heritage.

Today, Ynésuelves has established itself as a fashion house that celebrates femininity in all its forms, creating enduring pieces that transcend the ages and invite its clients to be completely themselves.

Elegance and a Mexican Heart

For Ynésuelves, this latest collection serves as a strategic redefinition of the brand toward a more exclusive, haute couture direction. It uses the stars, the moon, the heart, the butterfly, and the omnipresent rose as its leading symbols. The rose is not only the brand’s spiritual emblem but also an important aspect of the Virgin of Guadalupe.

The Virgin inspires women to celebrate the feminine spirit and honor women who carry themselves with pride, without ever hiding, no matter their shape or size.

For this collection, Ynésuelves forged relationships with various Mexican artisans and immersed the brand in the use of wheat to create textiles, Mexican art, embroidery techniques, and tin for ornamentation. Ynésuelves aimed to adapt these traditional Mexican methods into the creations designed for the runway show.

A look that expressed much of the collection’s aesthetic featured a see-through black lace shirt paired with tin-embellished jeans. The shirt was delicate and intricate at the same time, with long sleeves and sitting proudly over a black lace bra with a more densely patterned design. The jeans had lovely tin badges along the sides of the legs. Together, this outfit demonstrated that a woman should be proud of her femininity and unafraid to show her beauty, with meticulously crafted lace and embellishments that elevated the entire look.

Another fascinating look was a deep pink, almost reddish dress with a tank top and flowy, full mid-length skirt. The key to this outfit was the skirt and its color. Together, they gave the illusion of an actual diaphanous rose. The shirt was tiered, with curved edges that symbolized the petals. The waist was cinched with a sash in the same fabric. It was a subversively complex look, gracefully crafted.

A black dress towards the end of the presentation showed the audience how tin badges can be critical to the overall effect. The main part of the dress was black, with a bateau neckline and falling just past the knees. But underneath was an underskirt layered to provide fullness and a terribly chic silhouette. The underskirt was a vertically ombre black and beige that lengthened the overall dress to the ankles. As a definitive stamp, there were two tin hearts at the waistline framing the hips. These badges added playfulness but were also very prominent in their elegance.

The future of Ynésuelves and its designer, Ynés Suelves, is defined by a shift toward a bolder, more exclusive haute couture model and the expansion of their artisanal collaborations. With this collection, Ynés Suelves continues her personal campaign, “Let’s Plant Roses All Over the World,” which serves as a symbol for her poetic and artistic design approach. She remains committed to creating a world where “imagination has no limits and trends fade away.”
