In November, the fashion epicenter shifts to Madrid, when the 7th Edition of FASHION WEEK LATAM (FWLATAM) takes over Espacio Monbull Conde Duque with a powerful theme: the legacy and the continuity of fashion (“el legado y la continuidad de la moda“).
Under the creative leadership of Alejandro Medrano, FWLATAM is paying homage to the masters and, at the same time, championing emerging names in the world of fashion.
Fashion from Latin America will be celebrated with a total of eight runway shows. On November 12, starting at 1 PM, the first part will feature Anielka Monge (Nicaragua), Belkis Paz (Honduras), Annie Chajin (Panamá), and the iconic designer Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada (Spain). On the second half of the day, starting at 5 PM, the runway will be headlined by Jesús Ramos (Venezuela), Paulina Luna (México), Faride (Colombia), and Custo Barcelona (Spain).
In parallel with the event, Dómmina Mexican Art Gallery will display “Los Xoloitzcuintles” by Menchaca Studio, a series of sculptures that employ the figure of the dog in the Wixárika art technique. After the shows, don’t miss “Open Day Pop-Up,” where you can find and connect to all the brands and designers presented during the shows. At the end, graduates from EIDM Fashion & Luxury Business School will also showcase their collective show.
Also, do not miss Sara Duque, an expert in image consulting and styling, who will be providing a masterclass for the audience, using pieces from the brands presented during the show.
The Special Awards
For this new edition’s awards, Custo Dalmau, Creative Director of Custo Barcelona, will receive a prestigious award for his incredible 45-year journey in the fashion industry, inspiring an entire generation with a unique style that celebrates freedom, colors, and authenticity.
Fernando Costa, president of Faride, will receive a special award in recognition of the brand’s 60th anniversary, united by three generations. The daughters of Costa have recently relaunched the brand with a fresh, romantic take while keeping its original essence.
Jesús María Montes-Fernández Fernández, the long-standing and intrepid journalistic champion of Latin American fashion, will also receive a special award for his trajectory and his immense support for the region’s fashion.
Mercedes-Benz Mobility Centro will also receive a special award for its extended unconditional support of FWLATAM.
