The 36th edition of Barcelona’s 080 Fashion Week kicked off with an exciting lineup, bringing together both well-established industry names and emerging designers who, in just a few years, will no doubt be regarded as essential voices within the industry. Zoe Oms is one of them. This season, we were introduced to CLOUD, a romantic, dark, and maximalist proposal. The collection reflects on how rainy, overcast weather influences both the emotionality and functionality of clothing. Its main idea is to bring functionality into a fully feminine universe.

Born in Barcelona and trained at the London College of Fashion, she founded her namesake label in 2024 in her hometown. From her studio, she designed and created the collection that has now made its runway debut, such an epic way to close a cycle…

Her brand is devoted to the constant reinterpretation of femininity. Through elements and silhouettes such as puffed sleeves, balloon volumes, bows, ruffles, lace, and layered fabrics, she weaves a visual map that challenges the traditionally feminine connotations of these motifs. Through her work, Zoe Oms questions established patterns and breaks expectations, offering a new prism through which to view fashion.

Rainwear Debut

The technical aspects of each rainwear piece are reinterpreted with remarkable sensitivity and attention to detail. Blouses, jackets, skirts, and dresses all feature voluminous, romantic silhouettes with exaggerated proportions, abundant ruffles, ribbons, gathers, and meticulous detailing. Among these, a recurring element stands out, the harness, which, in the designer’s words, serves to give structure to an otherwise airy silhouette.

We see black and white, ruffles, midi lengths, and rounded shoulders that rise above the fabrics, paired with white tights, every shape, texture, and color playing an equally leading role, all coming together to perfectly echo the collection’s name.

Layering and the interplay of contrasting fabrics and textures create a constant dialogue between rigidity and romanticism. As always, white stands as a symbol of light and purity, while black beautifully evokes the darkness of a clouded sky. This duality between black and white masterfully heightens the emotional tension of the proposal.
