Pat Equilux presented her latest collection, “The Traces of my Skin,” on the final day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, a platform dedicated to emerging designers. From the very first look, what captivated me most was the depth of the collection. Rather than focusing solely on aesthetics, it invited the audience to reflect on identity and personal transformation.

The Invisible Marks of Growth

“The Traces of my Skin” comes from the idea that we are not fixed. We are always changing. Our identity grows from what touches us and what stays with us, even in quiet ways. Over time, these experiences shape and transform us. In addition, the collection explores these invisible but lasting marks, the connections they form, and the memories we carry in our bodies and in the way we inhabit them.

The designer builds the garments through contrasts and opposites, such as rigidity and fluidity, weight and lightness, and light and shadow. At the same time, each silhouette becomes a space where these differences coexist. Instead of canceling each other out, they create balance and a subtle tension that feels deliberate and thoughtful.

At its core, the collection explores personal growth. It can be seen as a flower made from fragments and traces. Each piece comes together to form something whole. It learns to recognize itself and embrace change.

I felt deeply moved by the creativity and care in every piece. Moreover, the accessories, especially the headpieces, stood out. They elevated each look and made it feel unique. The styling felt precise and intentional, perfectly reflecting the collection’s message.

When the final model left the runway, the audience responded with a warm and well-deserved round of applause. I left the venue feeling both impressed and inspired. I believe this marks the beginning of a bright future for Pat Equilux, as this collection stood out as one of the most memorable presentations of the week.
