Born into a family of tailors and gravitating towards the fine arts from an early age, Juan Vidal launched his eponymous brand in 2009. Since then, every single woman in Spain has, at the very least, considered wearing one of his designs for a special occasion. His collections are often shaped by his artistic background on the use of color, conceptual thinking, and volume, and his work stands as a dedication to desire, sophistication, and love.

A Journey from Spain to Istanbul

In Juan’s work, there is a prevailing sense of respect and admiration for women, not in a general sense, but for each individual woman he has the opportunity to dress and accompany in meaningful moments. On his website, you can read: “Self-esteem and confidence are conveyed through collections that, far from trends and rules, seek to create a project that serves as a creative vehicle for different artistic disciplines, where eclecticism and beauty are the starting point for a woman without age or origin, who understands clothing as a form of expression.”

Today, at MBFW, Juan Vidal presents through this new collection the materialization of a compendium of ideas, dreams, and emotions experienced during a fleeting trip to Istanbul, an unexpected encounter with the destination, just 72 hours that became a turning point. During the journey, a new visual language emerged in the designer’s creative mind as a result of encountering a city where sensuality and spirituality move side by side, where every street seems to connect the human with something greater.

From this experience, a new narrative is born, guided by fascination, the clash of elements, and the fusion of different worlds, something that Istanbul, as a key location linking Europe and Asia, embodies perfectly. The pomegranate, an ancient and complex fruit, lies at the heart of the collection. A symbol of spirituality, fertility, and knowledge, it runs through religions and mythologies across history. Like the seeds that coexist within a single sphere, the collection proposes the coexistence of different worlds: East and West, tradition and contemporaneity, body and spirit.
