Guillermo Díez López, the designer behind the fashion house Guillermo Décimo (GX), presented his collection on the EGO platform for emerging talent at Madrid Fashion Week (MBFWM) SS2026. Guillermo was born in Burgos and studied fashion at EASD Burgos. Afterward, he continued studying in workshops with renowned designers like Ulises Mérida and Ana Locking, as well as at the Balenciaga Museum.

Guillermo’s aesthetic is defined by a blend of fantasy, theatricality, and elegance, often incorporating upcycled elements. Décimo’s shows are known for being visually striking performances, complete with music, lighting, and stage design that compliment the designer’s romantic garments.

The Fashion Talent Award-Winner

His commitment to sustainability is evident in his clothes, where he reuses second-hand clothing, vintage materials, and scraps to create new, luxurious fabrics. Previously, Guillermo won the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent Award in 2025. This year, he was awarded the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent Award for his collection “In Tempo”, which showcased 18 women’s looks exploring the relationship between music and dressmaking. The jury praised his creativity, meticulous craftsmanship, and the quality of his fabrics. As part of this award, Décimo will have the opportunity to present “In Tempo” at the upcoming Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week.

In Guillermo Décimo’s “In Tempo” collection, the connection between music and dressmaking is an exploration of the precision of his tailoring, the time needed to create his outfits, and overall craftsmanship. The collection is rooted in the designer’s personal history with classical music.

In Tempo was a glorious collection of full-on ballgowns, and inordinately elegant dresses with mini-skirts and long pencil skirts to the knee. Although there were obvious hints of recycling, the collection was sophisticated and an homage to the French haute couture scene. The color palette was a base of black and white with pops of chartreuse, warm browns, hot pink, and blooming florals, which worked together to provide a beautiful, consistent collection. Décimo’s garments were immaculately structured with intricate, hidden interiors of corsets and bodices matched with full, billowing skirts as well as transparent, gauzy skirts, which complemented the overall aesthetic.

One of the outfits stood out with it’s crisp full white skirt falling to mid leg, an intricately embroidered brown top with three-quarter sleeves and a super chartreuse belt mimicking a bow tie. The blouse’s neckline was lined with feathery embellishments which added to the mystique. The outfit was sublime with its perfectly matched colors, baroque style and unmatched craftsmanship. It was not the most elaborate design in the collection but it showcased Guillermo’s strengths and frankly, it was beautiful.

Another outfit which caught the eye was a red cherry blouse made with silk and precisely cut with long sleeves and an elegant simple round collar. It was matched with a long pencil skirt in a floral white fabric. The bottom of the skirt was slightly deconstructed which elevated the look. It pointed to the designer’s affection for sustainability as well as providing interest to the overall piece.

Guillermo’s next steps involve showing his designs during fashion weeks in New York, Milan, and London. He is also partnering with the accessories brand Sprayground to continue his international push.  Decimo’s long-term ambition is to present his work at Paris Haute Couture Week and Avessa will be there to watch this fantastic emerging designer.
