The Spanish fashion house Acromatyx presented its Spring/Summer 2026 collection, titled “8,” at the 080 Barcelona Fashion Week in October 2025. The label was founded in 2021 by designers Franx de Cristal and Xavi García, who also head the experimental brand 44STUDIO.  Acromatyx, launched in 2021, is described as the “natural evolution” of 44STUDIO, which was founded in 2014. Acromatyx’s aesthetic is characterized by an avant-garde, minimalist, and deconstructed style, rooted in ethical and sustainable practices.

Franx de Cristal is originally from Don Benito, Extremadura, Spain, and Xavi García was born in Alicante, Spain. Franx de Cristal and Xavi García met through their shared connections in the Madrid creative scene. Their collaboration was sparked by Xavi’s desire to expand beyond his hairstyling project, Salon44, and Franx’s return to Madrid after developing his own performance styling in London. They decided to combine their visions, leading to the creation of their first fashion brand, 44STUDIO.

Timeless Deconstruction

The “8” collection is a declaration of artistic freedom that explores concepts of infinity, regeneration, and self-sufficiency. It is described as the brand’s most experimental collection to date. This central motif of “8” symbolizes abundance, balance, and infinite regeneration. It also evokes inner strength, justice, and the connection between the earthly and the spiritual. As the brand stated, “In a society where immediacy turns the new into the past within days, Acromatyx” proposes timeless collections with their own identity and narrative.

The collection is positioned between minimalism and the avant-garde with an exploration of volume and proportions. Central to the collection are oversized silhouettes, layering, and deconstruction. The foundational palette consists of black, khaki, white, and a vibrant electric blue, which, in combination, reveal the lines and forms of a garment. Acromatx utilizes fabrics such as silk, wool, and cotton, combined with recycled technical materials and innovative advanced textiles.

There were some fascinating recurring pieces in the collection. The brand developed deconstructed collared shirts that hinted at the modern businessman’s attire. They came with oversized, short, wide sleeves but were embellished at the chest with additional, more conventional long sleeves tied in a bow. They felt fresh and free and frankly quite good-looking. One can see the careful construction of the shirts even as it was deconstructed to hint at rules being subverted for beauty. These shirts were used throughout the collection in combination with other pieces.

Another lovely design was a complex and architectural blazer crafted from elegant khaki fabric and carefully tailored to be refined. But it came in two attached pieces, the typical double-breasted body overlaid with what can only be described as a shrug that layered over the shoulders and long sleeves. It was both astonishing and beautiful. Although this piece was presented on its own, we can imagine it combined with skirts or trousers and worn by any gender in a terribly fashionable bar or restaurant.

This collection features minimalist silhouettes, layering, and deconstructed processes, allowing for combinations and interpretations that are limited only by your imagination.

Acromatyx officially launched its new online store in September 2025. This marks a significant step towards making its collections accessible to a global audience and is crucial to enhancing brand visibility and sales. By participating in prestigious international fashion weeks and receiving accolades such as the FTA award, Acromatyx is building recognition beyond its home country. The future of Acromatyx is promising, and Avessa is eager to witness the incredible ideas that will burst forth from this brand.
