KIRPI turned the runway into an artistic spectacle with its latest collection “Anashym.” It was not just about a runway presentation; it was a tale of motherhood, an intellectual and emotional exploration, a homage to a girl’s wondrous and ancient journey in Kazakh culture through the centuries-old, sacred rites of passage that allow a girl from birth to the altar.

The finale showed a stunningly powerful and symbolic imagery of two significant Kazakh traditions – “syrga salu” (the placing of earrings, demonstrating that the girl is now officially engaged) and “kyz uzatu” (farewell of the bride, the moment when the bride leaves her family to join her husband’s household). The emotional mood was intense and felt in the air, supported by special staging, tender and touching music, and moving styling.
The Symbolism and The Fashion
KIRPI’s latest collection highlighted the one ultimate symbol of feminine power and glory: the dress. Layered, textured, and full of motion, the silhouettes of the gowns were inspired by the Kazakh ethnic dress but filtered through the lens of a modern and razor-edged designer vision. The fabrics themselves were whisperingly luxurious – delicate batiste, satin cotton, and the brand’s go-to cupro, and then, velvet. The detailing was all artistry – delicate handmade beading, rhinestones, and decorative bows were contrasted by voluminous flounces and ruffles, and an amazing array of textures. The color story was minimal and organic, and hit the mark of the Kazakh traditions’ aesthetic, as well as its innate elegance.
And so the story unfolded, not just fashion, but a powerful message about lineage and legacy, the powerful beauty of ritual, and the maternal love that is the foundational bedrock of us all. Touching, strong, vulnerable, and incredibly modern and high fashion. KIRPI gave us fashion with a soul, and we witnessed it in all of its glory.
