Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, known for her beautiful creativity and sly subversion, has taken a unique step with her latest collection. This marks her first foray into the world of artificial intelligence (AI), a move that has piqued our interest.
Agatha is a fascinating designer with an eagerness to be bold, brash, and innovative. In her latest edition, she is following a global trend by utilizing AI-generated designs. Her creation process this round used artificial intelligence to help create the collection, and it resulted in some of her most surreal and imaginative garments.

AI’s ability to generate new patterns and images from text prompts and visual data is well-documented, in addition to its ability to create unconventional garment forms that push the envelope on typical or common construction.
Artificial Intelligence in Fashion
With this new technology, Agatha created a collection that had playful, larger-than-life silhouettes with vibrant, contrasting colors, whimsical characters, and extravagant accessories. The collection featured exaggerated geometric shapes, including oversized polka dots and voluminous poplin capes with sequin accents. The runway was filled with fantastical characters and outlandish scenarios, reflecting the collection’s theatrical and humorous air.

One of our favorite silhouettes from this collection was the capacious skirts mimicking the conical shapes of cinder-cone volcanoes and cups found in bird nests or fungi. One dress that caught our attention was created in striped fabric of robin’s egg blue and spring yellow stripes. The skirt was almost an exaggerated ball with a fitted tank top. It was at the same time beautiful and might one say avant-garde? It was playful, but one can still imagine it being worn to a more formal cocktail or just a midnight party in one of the more hipster neighborhoods of Malasaña, Chueca, and Lavapiés.
Another dress that caught the eye was a conical tank dress in a shimmery transparent fabric outlined in white, but with gorgeous magenta circles embroidered in the skirt. It was paired with a simple one-piece green bodysuit.

Agatha once again impresses with her vibrant imagination and fearless views on technology and the future. She continues to operate her brand with a global perspective, with products available in multi-brand stores in over 150 countries. Avessa always looks forward to this unique artist who has built her brand on color, whimsy, and surrealism, which remains a consistent and central theme in her work.
The Collection
Recovering from an obsession with Italian-designed menswear, Alfonso decided to take a deeper look into women’s fashion to see how our relationship among clothing, society, and business has changed. Educated as an economist with an MBA, he travels between Chicago, Miami, and Mexico on a search to see what happens next to fashion.
